Former Tempe Police Chief passes away after cancer battle
Former Tempe Police Chief Ron Burns
TEMPE, Ariz. - The Tempe Police Department announced the passing of former Police Chief Ron Burns in a tweet on Jan. 3.
He passed away after a battle with cancer.
Burns served as chief from 1995 to 2000.
"He was a good and honorable man who will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with his family," the department said.
