Fight breaks out at Buckeye elementary school; 4 arrested
BUCKEYE, Ariz. - Four people were arrested, including three teens, after police say they responded to a fight involving a gun at a Buckeye elementary school on Wednesday afternoon.
What we know:
Buckeye Police say the April 23 fight happened just before 4 p.m. at Freedom Elementary School. Officers arrived at the scene and detained a 15-year-old, two 17-year-olds and a 19-year-old, who allegedly had a gun.
"During the investigation, it was learned some of the suspects know [sic] each other and had arrived at the campus to pick up relatives who attend the school," police said. "That’s when a fight broke out and the armed suspect, identified as 19-year-old Iriel Rivera, lifted his shirt to reveal the handgun in his waistband.
No one was hurt in the fight.
Rivera was booked into jail and is accused of multiple weapons charges. The three other teens are accused of disorderly conduct and disrupting an educational institution.
