Driver nearly hit officer while fleeing Buckeye traffic stop: police

Seth Rabago

A traffic stop led to the felony arrest of a suspect in Buckeye last weekend, police said.

The incident happened at around 10 p.m. on Jan. 11 near Verrado Way and Western Drive.

Buckeye Police say a Dodge Charger was clocked going 75 mph in a 40 mph zone.

"The officer pulled over the Charger and advised the driver the reason for the traffic stop was for criminal speeding," police said.

The driver, 19-year-old Seth Rabago, allegedly sped away during the traffic stop, nearly hitting an officer.

While searching for the Charger, police say they received a call from Rabago's family member, saying he wanted to turn himself in.

Rabago was arrested and booked into jail. He is accused of speeding, unlawful flight and aggravated assault.
