DPS arrests a child molestation suspect wanted in Avondale
AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona Department of Public Safety officers have arrested a child molestation suspect wanted by Avondale police.
DPS officials say they received information Friday that 29-year-old Joshua Warner of Phoenix may have been attempting to flee the state.
An "attempt to locate" call was broadcast along with a description of the suspect's vehicle at about 10:15 a.m.
Eight minutes later, DPS officers say they saw a car matching the description along Interstate 10 near Casa Grande.
Officers stopped the vehicle and took Warner into custody along with undisclosed evidence.
They say Warner and the evidence were handed over Avondale police.
It's unclear if Warner has a lawyer yet.
Authorities say their investigation is ongoing in the child molestation case, but didn't immediately release any details.
