Father and son dead after being hit by a car on the shoulder of Loop 202 in Phoenix
PHOENIX - Two pedestrians are dead after they were struck by a Tesla at an off-ramp on Loop 202 in Phoenix.
According to police, the pedestrians were filling up their pickup truck with gas on the shoulder of the road when they were hit.
They were identified as a father who was 77 years old and a son who was in his 40's.
The crash happened at the interchange at Elliot Road on the new South Mountain portion of the Loop 202 Freeway.
The woman who was driving the Tesla stayed on the scene and no signs of impairment were detected.
The roadway was partially blocked for several hours as an investigation took place.
