On Instagram, the actor’s wife shared the cover of her new book, "The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope and Yourself on the Caregiving Path."

What they're saying:

"Born from grief, shaped by love, and guided by purpose, this is the book I needed back when Bruce was first diagnosed and I was frozen with fear and uncertainty," she said in the post. "This is the book I trust will help the next caregiver. It is filled with support, insight, and the hope needed to navigate this journey.

What is Bruce Willis diagnosed with?

The backstory:

In March 2022, his family announced that Willis had been diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder caused by damage to an area of the brain that controls language expression and comprehension, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.

By early 2023, Willis’ disease had progressed to frontotemporal dementia, an untreatable disease and the most common form of dementia in people under 60.

In March, Willis’ daughter, Rumer Willis, shared a heartwarming video of Willis and Moore dancing together as a tribute to her father’s 70th birthday. It’s unclear when the video was taken – videos of Willis are rare ever since he was diagnosed with dementia – but the family did have big plans to celebrate Willis turning 70.

In January, amid the deadly Los Angeles area wildfires, Willis was seen talking with first responders in what may have been his first public appearance since he was diagnosed. An Instagram video shared by Emma showed Willis outside shaking hands and talking with first responders who were stationed at road closure signs. According to a 2023 report from Hello Magazine, Willis lives with Emma and his two daughters at a home in Brentwood Park.
