Child with rare condition experiences joy of riding customized bike for 1st time

OMAHA, Neb. - A Nebraska boy with a rare genetic condition experienced the joy of riding after a customized bike was gifted to him by his physical therapy. 

The touching moment occurred in September at Children’s Nebraska hospital in Omaha.

The child, Raanan Albert, 7, is only the 28th person in the world diagnosed with CLTC-related disorder, a rare chromosomal deletion that results in a variety of impairments.

During his physical therapy sessions,  Raanan started to learn how to ride a bike with his physical therapist, Angie Pereira-Burbach.

Pereira-Burbach went above and beyond to find a customized bike for her patient, according to her hospital staff. 

The hospital released footage showing Raanan wheeling around in his new bike for the first time around the hospital.
