Base jumper found dead in Superstition Mountains
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Search and rescue crews found the body of a hiker who had gone missing during a search in the Superstition Mountains on Saturday morning.
The victim is 25-year-old Brian Head, a base jumper. His body was found at about 8:30 a.m., on Saturday, according to Sheriff Paul Babeu at a press conference. His vehicle was found at Lost Dutchman State Park on Friday after the hiker's mother called to report her son had gone hiking in the Superstition Mountains on Thursday and had not returned home.
Search and Rescue teams from Pinal County Sheriff's Office as well as Maricopa County Sheriff's Office were busy looking for the man on the ground, while air units assist in the search. Deputies said on Saturday morning that the missing man's body had been found.
