Twin brother of fiery plane crash victim speaks out

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - The twin brother of one of the victims onboard a plane that crashed in North Scottsdale Monday night spoke out Tuesday.

Six people were onboard the plane when it crashed Monday night. All of them were killed. Snapchat videos show passengers loading up the plane Monday night at the Scottsdale airport, minutes before the fateful crash.

While the identities of those onboard have not officially been released, Akash Patel says his twin brother Anad, or "Happy" as his friends knew him, was on that plane.

Patel said his twin brother died doing what he loved, traveling with his friends and having fun.

"My mom called my brother's cellphone, and a police officer answered and said they found the plane at the crash site," said Patel, in a phone interview.

Meanwhile, NTSB investigators were at the scene Tuesday. According to NTSB officials, the plane took off at around 8:45 p.m., headed for North Las Vegas. Right after takeoff, however, the plane crashed into the TCP Championship golf course.

Patel said he learned the news of his brother's passing Tuesday morning.

"I think that he is in a better place," said Patel, in the phone interview. "He's certainly going to be with us forever in his memories, and how he positively influenced and touched peoples lives."

NTSB officials said they should have a preliminary report of their findings within the next week or two.
