Arizona Gov. Hobbs to hold State of the State address

The Arizona Legislature opens its 2025 session on Jan. 13 when Governor Katie Hobbs delivers the State of the State address.

Lawmakers will first meet at 12 p.m. to take the oath of office and cast their first votes. They will then break for the governor's speech.

Hobbs' office says the governor's address will lay out her plans for the session, including bringing opportunity, freedom and security to Arizona.

The governor's office also says Hobbs plans to highlight her work to lower costs, keep communities safe, secure the border and grow the state's economy.

Prior to Hobbs' address, Republican lawmakers will hold a news conference to outline their 2025 plan.

The State of the State address is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m.
