Arizona weather forecast: Hotter temperatures expected for Phoenix this weekend

Thursday was another near-normal day across Arizona. Phoenix warmed to 87 degrees. Clouds rolled in during the afternoon, and the clouds should clear overnight, leading to a sunnier start on Friday. More rounds of clouds will move into AZ Friday afternoon.

Tonight:

Winds were gusty across Arizona Thursday, but the wind will lighten overnight for most of the state. The Colorado River Valley in western Arizona is the exception, and a wind advisory begins tonight at 8 PM, continuing through 8 PM Friday. Northerly winds will gust up to 55 mph over spots like Lake Mead, Lake Havasu and Bullhead City.

Tomorrow:

The rest of AZ will be calmer on Friday, but the breezes will pick up a bit over Mogollon Rim and the Valley Friday night.

Temperatures will warm about one to three degrees on Friday. Phoenix will start around 64 degrees in the morning, before climbing to 88 degrees in the afternoon.

Looking Ahead:

The heat turns up a notch on Saturday and Sunday, with 90s returning for the Valley. Easter will be a dry and hot day in the Valley. The high country will be mild with a chance for isolated showers over the Mogollon Rim and eastern AZ.
