Felony warrant suspect accused of fleeing into private Christian school in Phoenix

PHOENIX (FOX 10) -- Phoenix Police officials say a man fled from police by entering a private school in Phoenix Monday morning.

According to a statement released Thursday, officials say they were searching for 24-year-old Chad Eben Jobe at an apartment complex along the 16000 block of N. 42th Avenue, located near the intersection of Bell Road and 43rd Avenue.

Jobe had a felony warrant for probation violation, according to court documents, and police say when officers found Jobe, he fled into the nearby Northwest Christian School.

In court documents, police officers claim they heard Jobe say he had a gun while he was running inside the school. Eventually, officers arrested Jobe in a room on campus. No weapon was found on Jobe during a search of his person.

According to a statement released by Greg Brown, Superintendent of the Northwest Christian School, police arrested Jobe in under a minute. Jobe asked for a cup of water and before staff members were able to get that cup of water over to him, Jobe was gone.

"We are grateful for the Phoenix Police and the swift manner in which the situation was handled," Brown writes.

Jobe, according to court documents, is charged with 12 counts of felony kidnapping and a count of resisting arresting. A cash-only bond is set at $50,000.
