Child pulled from swimming pool at Phoenix home has died

PHOENIX - Police say a 3-year-old boy who was pulled from a backyard swimming pool and transported to an area hospital in critical condition on Thursday has died.

Authorities say adult supervision was present at the home near Central and Thunderbird Road.

According to Phoenix Police Lt. Bryan Coley, when officers arrived at the scene, they performed CPR. The child was found by the grandmother and uncle.

Officials say they're investigating to determine how the child got into the pool and for how long he may have been there.
