Buckeye Airman arrested, accused of killing 3-month-old son
BUCKEYE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Buckeye police have arrested an United States Air Force Airman who's accused of killing his 3-month-old son.
According to the Buckeye Police Department, John Centano was arrested in connection to the death of his infant son in 2017.
On June 13, 2017, police say they received a call from Phoenix Children's Hospital after a 3-month-old child was found unresponsive in his Buckeye home.
The child was being cared for by Centano, who said he took his son to a Buckeye hospital after finding him unresponsive on a bed. The child was transported to Phoenix Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the medical examiner ruled the infant died from complications from head trauma and his death was rule a homicide.
On May 8, 2018, Centano was arrested by Buckeye police and booked into Maricopa County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and child abuse.
According to court documents, Centano is on active duty with the United States Air Force.
