Arizona weather forecast: Cooler temps, possible rain on the way this week

Conditions Today:

Monday brings another day of windy weather in the High Country and warm conditions over the lower deserts.

The forecast high is 78 degrees in Phoenix, which is 8 degrees warmer than normal. It will be a mostly dry day, with just a few isolated showers or sprinkles possible in Northern Arizona.

Looking Ahead:

By Tuesday, a mix of clouds and sun will be accompanied by more mild air. Highs drop to around normal with Phoenix expected to cap near 71 degrees. In Northern Arizona, another day of gusts of 30-40 mph is forecast.

Wednesday brings the first of two rounds of potential rain/snow showers. Wednesday looks considerably spottier and lighter, but Northern Arizona may pick up some rain/snow. Snow totals, if any, would be low. Wednesday ushers in much cooler air, too. In Phoenix, the high may struggle to get out of the low 60s.

Thursday clouds will linger over Arizona between the first and second round of moisture. By Friday, a more widespread and steady system is likely to pass by.

This will bring a chance for rain and snow showers for Arizona as well as gusty winds.

In Phoenix, the chance for rain is just 20% (mostly for the north/east edge of the Valley) on Wednesday and 60% on Friday. High temperatures in the Valley hit the upper 60s on Thursday and Friday.

Another Beautiful Weekend:

By the weekend, the state dries out and high temperatures climb from the low 70s to mid/upper 70s through Saturday to Sunday.
