Arizona weather forecast: Highs dip into the 60s in the Valley
Cold conditions grip the region
PHOENIX - Gusty winds are forecast to persist across Arizona on Thursday afternoon. Gusts of 20-30 mph are expected for Phoenix and the White Mountains and gusts of 30-40+ mph are likely for areas like Prescott, Kingman, Flagstaff and Payson. A few light snow showers are possible at higher elevations throughout the afternoon, particularly east.
Dry conditions take over beginning Friday with plenty of sunshine.
High temperatures are expected to sit just below average for the next several days in Phoenix. Highs around 64-66 degrees are forecast through the weekend and early next week. Overnight lows turn very cold, even in the lower deserts.
A Freeze Warning is in place for overnight into Friday morning for Pinal County and areas to the East of the Valley, as well as over Wickenburg.
Weekend outlook
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is expected to dip into the upper 30s on Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning. As a result, some parts of the Valley along the edge such as East Mesa, Queen Creek, Surprise and Buckeye are forecast to hit freezing conditions.
Next week the temperatures will slowly climb back to the low 70s in the afternoon and upper 40s at night.
