We should get temperatures back into the 70s this weekend and throughout next week.

Our mild December weather continues!

On Thursday afternoon, the high temperature reached 75° in the Valley with low-end breezy conditions in Phoenix. Gusts may reach around 15 mph.

Stronger winds are forecast for the High Country. In fact, gusts of 30-35 mph are expected around Flagstaff and up to 30-40 mph in Show Low and the White Mountains. The increasing winds are due to a cold front that will move over the West Coast and inland across the west through Friday.

Ahead of the front, winds will increase in Arizona. Behind the front, cooler air will settle into the state.

The front will not bring any rain or snow to Arizona. However, the cooler temperatures will bring Phoenix back to the upper 60s on Friday. Morning temperatures will also be more chilly in the lower deserts with lows in the 40s around the Valley on Friday morning, as well as during the weekend mornings.

A ridge will begin to redevelop this weekend, so high temperatures rebound into the low 70s during the afternoon. Winds will remain lighter with a mix of sun and clouds forecast for both Saturday and Sunday. Perfect conditions for outdoor plans!

Next week, warm air continues to hang across the Southwest, which will push high temperatures into the middle 70s for much of next week.
