Cloudy skies give way to the sunshine on Thursday with a slight dip in temperature.

It was a cold morning! Temperatures fell to single digits and teens in parts of northern Arizona with lows in the 30s and low 40s around the Valley. The official low was 43 degrees at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

The cold air will keep things comfortable on Wednesday afternoon with high temperatures reaching the low 70s in the Valley and only the upper 40s in parts of the High Country, like Flagstaff and Show Low.

Clouds will continue to stream over the state on Wednesday and the first half of Thursday. The partly-to-mostly-cloudy conditions, unfortunately, do not bring any rain or snow.

Winds will remain light to breezy on Wednesday, but increase on Thursday ahead of the next system. A storm will pass north of Arizona by Friday. This system will miss us with rain and snow, but bring a brief shot of slightly cooler conditions.

Highs are forecast to hit the low 70s again on Thursday in Phoenix and the upper 60s on Friday.

Over the weekend, beautiful weather will take hold of the region! A mix of sunshine and scattered clouds will accompany highs in the low 70s both Saturday and Sunday in Phoenix.

Morning temperatures are firmly planted in the 40s around the Valley through the next week. Chilly mornings with mild afternoons should allow for perfect weather during any outdoor holiday events!
