Distracted driver crashes into DPS vehicle

The incident happened on Jan. 6. The Arizona Department of Public Safety says troopers were closing a lane of traffic on Interstate 17 due to a crash. The troopers had their lights out and put out a flare. A sergeant saw a vehicle approaching the closure at a high rate of speed, and the driver hit the DPS vehicle, narrowly missing the sergeant. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
