New AZ campaign aims to create open primaries

An effort is underway in Arizona to overhaul how residents in the state vote in primaries. The new campaign, named 'Make Elections Fair Act,' would allow independent voters, or those without a party affiliation, to vote in primaries without having to register as a member of either party. Supporters need to gather 384,000 signatures to get it on the ballot next November.
