Waymo begins driverless rides in downtown Phoenix, but not for everyone, yet

Beginning Aug. 30, Waymo is going driverless in downtown Phoenix. The company has been testing out the service with drivers behind the wheel for the past few months. For now, the service in downtown Phoenix is limited to trusted testers and Waymo employees with plans to expand it later down the road. The company has been operating driverless cars in Chandler and south Tempe for a couple of years.
