CDC extends mask mandate on public transportation as a precaution

The CDC is extending the mask mandate on public transportation for two weeks. It was supposed to expire in a week, but the CDC wants to keep it in place to monitor a recent uptick in coronavirus cases nationwide. Airlines have lobbied for the government to end mandates, especially because of the violent outbursts on board planes in the last two years.
