89 heat-related deaths in Maricopa County

An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect as heat-related deaths continue to rise in Maricopa County. Officials have confirmed 89 deaths so far this year. Nearly 350 deaths are still under investigation.

State of emergency over extreme heat

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs has declared a state of emergency over our extreme heat. It applies to Coconino, Pinal, and Maricopa Counties. The order comes after the Valley experienced its hottest July on record.

Brady Fire burns north of Payson

The Brady Fire sparked north of Payson Sunday afternoon and there is no containment as of Aug. 10. The Tonto and Coconino national forests have implemented an emergency closure for roads and trails to protect the public as firefighters battle the fire. Two scout camps in the area are preparing for potential evacuations and remain on SET status.

Extreme heat means extreme bills for some

July 2023 was among the hottest ever on record for the Phoenix area, and while we may have survived the month, many Arizona families are dealing with its ugly aftermath in the form of sky-high bills.
