'Cool pavement' is coming to Desert Ridge Marketplace

The summer is almost behind us, but the heat stays with Arizonans into the fall months. Scientists with ASU are working on a study in partnership with Vestar to reduce area heat through the use of "cool pavement" in urban areas. FOX 10's Irene Snyder reports.

Over 200 heat-related deaths in Maricopa County

Despite temperatures going down, the number of heat-related deaths in Maricopa County continues to rise. The latest weekly report from the Department of Public Health shows that 202 deaths are associated with heat in 2023, and another 356 deaths are under investigation.

Phoenix hiking trails a week after new heat restrictions

It’s been just over a week since the city of Phoenix implemented a new heat safety policy by restricting access to the hardest trails in the city. On Monday, the Phoenix Fire Department rescued two hikers on Camelback Mountain who were overheating. FOX 10's Marissa Sarbak has the latest.
