Albertsons scraps merger plans with Kroger

Albertsons is scrapping plans to merge with grocery chain Kroger, one day after a federal judge halted the deal. Both companies have a strong presence in Arizona, with Albertsons operating its namesake store and Safeway, while Kroger operates as Fry's in the state.

A new report shows the firearm that shot Scottsdale Detective Ryan So was not properly secured. The report says the rifle was in a bag, but the safety was not in the locked position. Det. So removed it from the car, it fell out of the bag, hit the ground and fired. The report says there is no evidence of criminal negligence and the investigation is closed.

Wrong-way driver collides into DPS trooper

New video shows the moments a DPS trooper collided head on with a wrong-way driver on Loop 101 over the weekend. 26-year-old Nicholas Chavez was arrested and is accused of aggravated DUI. No one was injured in the crash.
