Termination of ex-Goodyear Police lieutenant upheld by city manager

The Goodyear city manager has upheld the firing of Dwayne Pollard, a former lieutenant with the police department. The city says Pollard improperly handled 11 cases of people who died of natural causes in a way that should only have been handled by the medical examiner. A DPS investigation found that Pollard did not commit any crimes.

Armed robbery suspects in custody: Goodyear Police

Police say four suspects are in custody following an armed robbery in Goodyear. According to police, the incident happened at an apartment complex near Dysart and Van Buren. Three suspects were taken into custody and a fourth was later found by police. Investigators say the suspects also matched the description of people accused of another armed robbery at a nearby Super 8 Motel.

Man smashed windows, stole credit cards from Blue Buffalo facility in Goodyear: police

Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man accused of smashing several windows and stealing several items, including credit cards, from the Blue Buffalo facility near MC 85 and Cotton Lane. Fugitive Arizona sex crimes suspect arrested in Mexico: US Marshals

After a decade on the run, a fugitive wanted in connection to sex crimes in Goodyear was arrested in Mexico. U.S. Marshals say Luis Aguirre was extradited back to Arizona after his arrest in Chihuahua, Mexico. Aguirre, 46, was wanted for child molestation, sexual abuse, and sexual conduct with a minor. He's allegedly tied to 14 crimes, committed between 2004 and 2011.
