He spent two weeks in Boise, Idaho getting a feel for the trial's impact on the community, hearing and seeing graphic testimony and evidence, all while getting to see Lori's reaction, or apparent lack thereof, to these testimonies while in the courtroom with her.

Detective says Lori Vallow appeared 'non-chalant' after husband's death

Chandler detectives found Lori to be calm, smiling and even laughing after she learned of her husband’s death. Specifically, detective Cassandra Ynclan described Lori's "non-chalant" demeanor throughout the conversation. "She was calm, unemotional, I would say. Not upset. The conversation revolved around Tylee and her school, kind of Tylee's future plans. She was almost non-chalant about the conversation," Ynclan said.

Chandler Police detectives, firefighter testify in Idaho court for Lori Vallow murder trial

Chandler Police detectives and a firefighter also took the stand. They were questioned about the Charles Vallow's shooting. In July 2019, the narrative in Chandler Police's report is that Charles and Lori’s brother Alex got into a fight. Lori, Alex and even her daughter Tylee claimed that Charles hit Alex in the head with a baseball bat. Alex grabbed his gun and shot Charles twice, claiming self-defense. But, at the time, Chandler detectives found Lori to be calm, smiling and even laughing after she learned of her husband’s death.
