Woman hit and killed by car in Tempe

TEMPE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Tempe Police are investigating a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle that left one woman dead.

Officers responded to the area of North Scottsdale Road and Curry Road.

Investigators say a woman was walking across N. Scottsdale Rd. when she was struck by a southbound vehicle. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:45 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating.

Early investigation shows intoxication appears to be a factor on behalf of the pedestrian. Police have not yet released the name of the victim.
