White Castle breaks ground on first restaurant in Arizona

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (FOX 10) - White Castle, home of the iconic "slider" hamburger, broke ground on Wednesday on its first restaurant in Arizona. The restaurant will be located in the Talking Stick Entertainment District.

White Castle was recognized by Time Magazine as the most influential burger of all time. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and serves breakfast at all hours.

"White Castle has so many fans in the Phoenix area who have been clamoring for us to come," said Lista Ingram, White Castle president, and CEO. "Many years ago, we sent semi-trucks full of sliders across the nation to Fountain Hills to temporarily satisfy their Crave. Today, we're officially here for the long haul."

White Castle says customers can expect to eat an iconic slider by fall of 2019. The restaurant is expected to bring around 80 jobs to the area.
