Six people will need to find a new place to stay after sprinklers caused water damage on three floors of a North Phoenix apartment building on Saturday.
Crews with the Phoenix Fire Department responded to a fire on the third floor of an apartment complex near Union Hills and 48th Street on Saturday morning. Firefighters quickly got the fire under control, and worked to turn off the automatic sprinkler system that had been activated. The sprinklers caused water to flow down into apartments on the lower floors.
A total of six people on three different floors were all displaced due to the water damage. Investigators are now looking into what sparked the fire.
