PHOENIX (KSAZ) - One day after widespread power outages crippled the valley, many people are still feeling the impact.
Utility crews have been working non-stop to restore power to everyone and at the height of Monday's storm, 70,000 homes and businesses lost power. As of Wednesday morning, about 3,000 people still had no power.
West Phoenix was one of the hardest hit areas on Monday, with a lot of damage in the area. SRP says all of their 26 crews were dispatched and were feverishly working on downed power poles.
In addition to homes and businesses, several schools were closed on Tuesday because they had no power, however, Garfield and Whittier are now back in session.
The Phoenix Zoo has also been closed since Tuesday due to storm cleanup.
