FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Deputies with the U.S. Marshals Service shot and killed a suspect in Flagstaff during a joint operation with state and federal law enforcement on Sept. 14, according to police.
Federal authorities said they were attempting to arrest a man near 6th Avenue and Izabel Street when he reportedly pulled out a gun.
"Deputies fired at the subject, striking him," the U.S. Marshals Service said. "Life saving measures were attempted; however, the suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene."
It is unclear what the suspect was accused of, and his name was not released. No one else was hurt.
Flagstaff PD was not involved in this incident but was on the scene to help with temporary street closures between 6th Avenue and Colanthe Street on Izabel Street.
The FBI will investigate this shooting and there is no threat to the public.
