Gas line leak secured in Scottsdale neighborhood

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Scottsdale Police Department assisted the city's fire department with road closures and evacuations due to a natural gas line leak near Granite Reef Road and Rancho Vista Drive on July 25.

Granite Reef Road was closed in both directions.

Just after 10 a.m., Scottsdale Fire Department officials stated on Twitter that the gas had been secured, and no injuries were reported.

"Scottsdale Hazmat crews confirmed gas is not migrating underground. Roads will open up within the hour as we will remain on scene making sure our firefighters are hydrated."
