PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Police are investigating an officer involved shooting in Central Phoenix.
The shooting happened before 9:15 p.m. Friday evening at 16th St and Thomas.
Police say they spotted the robber when an officer looked through the drive-thru window.
They say an officer struggled with the suspect outside the store, and the officer fired the suspect's weapon. The weapon turned out to be a flare gun and it was recovered on the scene.
The suspect was rushed to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury, and he's expected to be booked into jail.
