In parts of Mesa, sandbags are filling up neighborhoods and lining houses and yards. Residents are taking extra precautions, after Monday's storm left major damage to their homes and in their neighborhoods.
"We went and picked up sandbags and removed all the rocks just to hold it against the wall in case the rain did come again," said Bill Ketcham.
"We just moved here," said Henrik Markarian. "It is not even two weeks. That was the first one to hit like that. I never seen a flood like that."
City officials in Mesa are offering free sandbags to residents, and the city says they are working to keep up with demand.
"We area getting pretty low right now, so I called in for another order of sand so people are coming in to fill in the sandbags themselves," said Cpt. Bill Darling.
