FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP/FOX 10) - A winter storm warning continues in northern Arizona with up to a foot of snow expected along with windy and chilly conditions.
After Flagstaff received a few inches of snow Tuesday, public schools were closed on Wednesday after the National Weather Service said the city had received 9.4 inches of snowfall by 6 a.m. with up to 2 inches more inches expected.
They say the North Rim of the Grand Canyon could get up to 16 inches of snow.
The weather service forecasts wind gusts in Williams, Flagstaff and Winslow to range between 40 mph and 46 mph with wind-chill factors of 3 degrees in Flagstaff and minus 3 on the North Rim.
Forecasters said conditions would improve gradually from the west during the day. Travelers were advised to take emergency supplies such as food and water in their vehicles.
