State Department of Administration holds surplus auction

Imagine how many items the TSA collects, and now, the Federal goverment and the state have figured out a way to put those items in good hands.

In Arizona, there's a sale every month that is open to the public, where all of these items go up for grabs, at great prices.

"Pretty fun," said Jamie. "Pretty fun for a Friday."

Jamie was at the Arizona Department of Administration surplus property sale Friday morning, getting some good bargains.

"We found things to do a presentation, and bargains," said Jamie.

Every year, millions of travelers pass through Sky Harbor Airport. Sometimes, they bring items they can't travel with, or simply forget them while waiting to board. For the past 15 years, the TSA and the state have been partnering to re-sell those items that are just sitting around.

Computers, tools, games, jewelry, you can pretty much find anything you need.

Prices on items are set at fair market value, and all of the proceeds from the sale go to the state's General Fund.
