PHOENIX (KSAZ) - As many around the valley gear up for the holiday season, some valley police officers got to assist some of Santa's littlest helpers.
On Thursday, police swarmed the Phoenix Spectrum Target store, but it wasn't to bust shoplifters, it was to lend a hand in the annual Shop With a Cop event.
"Air hockey.. I got a remote control helicopter, a soccer ball and a football and some gloves and a basketball," said Anthony.
For these children, it's a dream that became a reality, thanks to the brave men and women in blue and for the officers, it's chance to be a kid again.
And before the day ended with cookies and gift wrapping, there was time for some reflection in between the aisles.
"Are you on the naughty or the nice list this year? I'll say nice list, like is there a list in between? Yeah I'll say that list, me too yeah, cause like some days you have your bad days right? Some days you have your good days, someday you have your bad days," said John.
Each child was given a budget of $150. They were selected based on need.
