Scrabble is adding new words to its dictionary for the first time in four years.

The 2,000 new words added by Collins, the makers of the Scrabble dictionary, include terms popular among younger generations.

What are the new Gen Z words in Scrabble?

  1. "Yeet"
  2. "Nibling," a gender-neutral term for nieces and nephews
  3. "Floof," an informal name for a very furry animal
  4. "Grammable," which means a post suitable for Instagram.
  5. Versions of  "Boujee" — "boujier," "boujiest," "bougie," "bougier" and "bougiest."
  6. "Amirite" — as in, "am I right?"
  7. "Bacne," a combination of "back acne."

Moreover, these non-Gen Z terms are also in the new updated world list: "Covid," "anyhoo," "headbutt," "thingie" and "autofill."

These new words can be used in club and tournament play starting on Jan.1, 2025, the New York Post noted.
