PHOENIX (KSAZ) - When it rains, it pours, and as more rain falls throughout the Valley, flooding is always a big concern.
"We're expecting now as the bulk remnants of Rosa to make their way inland, we're going to be looking anywhere between one-to-two inches of rain, area-wide across the valley," said Daniel Hence, meteorologist at the Maricopa County Flood Control District.
This morning, the flood warning branch says they are keeping a close eye on rain totals.
"Now that we've had this early rain that got all the water shuts wet, when we have more rain on top of that, that's when we start to see run-off and we could have flooding problems," Hence said.
Making its way through the Valley, the brunt of the storm could dump anywhere between one-to-two inches of rain across the Valley, the department says.
Drivers hitting the highway and other roadways for their daily commutes should be on alert.
"Low-lying areas filling up with water, and again we're asking people to just avoid these areas and when you see the water, just take an alternate route," Hence said.
