Police: Suspect dead following officer-involved shooting at Scottsdale Fashion Square

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Police say a suspect is dead following an officer-involved shooting at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall on Sunday.

Scottsdale police say an off-duty officer was working security at the mall when he was called to the third level of the parking garage near Macy's at around 5 p.m. for reports of a man acting erratically in one of the stores.

When the officer approached the man, police say there was a struggle and the officer opened fire, killing the man. Police say a handgun was found at the scene.

The suspect's identity has not been released by police.
