Family dispute leaves 2 shot, 1 stabbed at Sky Harbor

Multiple incidents sent Sky Harbor Airport into chaos on Christmas night, including a family dispute left two people shot and one person stabbed. FOX 10's Nicole Krasean has the latest.

Sky Harbor International Airport was the scene of violence and commotion on Christmas night.

Three people were shot and another was stabbed during a family argument that escalated, police say.

It was a scary moment for travelers on their Christmas evening, airport operations have returned to normal.

Phoenix police say around 9:45 on Dec. 25 at an airport restaurant in Terminal 4, a family argument between five people left two men and a woman wounded.

The woman's injuries are described as life-threatening and the two men are expected to survive.

A man and a girl were detained after the incident but no charges have been announced.

"All five involved in this incident are known to each other. No community members or visitors were hurt outside of this group of individuals. They did not go through TSA yet. I do not recommend bringing guns to an airport," said Sgt. Mayra Reeson. "I do believe that this was a family dispute that escalated."

After the gunfire, the man and a juvenile girl were detained in an airport parking garage.

"The man was taken to a hospital with at least one cut/stab wound. He is listed in stable condition," said Reeson.
