Police: officers shoot man who came at them with knife
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Scottsdale Police officers shot and killed a man who they say threatened them with a knife.
The shooting happened Wednesday afternoon near 92nd St and Shea.
Officers were responding to a check welfare call near the Sprouts Market at the intersection.
A police spokesperson says the man was acting erratic and was not listening to commands from officers. Police say during the contact with the suspect he confronted officers with a knife and they opened fire.
Paramedics responded but the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or the officers involved.
