PHOENIX (KSAZ) - One person is in serious condition after being shot and then involved in a two-car collision early Monday morning.
Phoenix police say the victim was involved in a crash with a Shamrock semi-truck near 27th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard just after 3:15 a.m. When police arrived on the scene, the driver of the car had left the area, but the passenger was injured with what police believed was a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Earlier in the morning, police responded to a call of shots fired at a house in the area of 3200 W. Montecito. When police arrived at the home, they found no one injured, but two men near the home ran away from police.
They were chased and bitten by K-9 units. The men were treated by paramedics at the scene.
About 15 minutes later, officers responded to the semi-truck crash and found the victim with a gunshot wound. The victim told police he had been shot at a "house party."
Police are still looking for the driver of the vehicle and are unsure why he left the scene on foot before police arrived.
The identity of the suspect's at the home where the alleged shooting happened have not been released by police.
