PHOENIX - Phoenix Police officials say a person is dead after a car crashed into a bus stop in north Phoenix.
The crash happened just after 12:30 p.m. on July 21, in the area of 35th Avenue and Dunlap. According to police officials, the gray car was headed south on 35th Avenue when the drier tried to avoid another car that was turning left.
"The driver of that vehicle attempted to avoid that crash, and she lost control and crashed into that bus stop," said Sgt. Mercedes Fortune with the Phoenix Police Department.
Three people were at the bus stop at the time. Of the three people, a man was killed, while a woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Another man suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the car involved in the crash remained at the scene, and officials say impairment does not appear to be a factor at this time.
