TUCSON, Ariz. - Authorities in Pima County say a second suspect was captured days after a deputy was ambushed and shot.
The shooting happened while the deputy was responding to a domestic violence call around 10 a.m. on Aug. 13 near Jeffrey Road and Camino De Oeste.
"While deputies were on-scene, they observed the suspect vehicle driving nearby. Upon observing the deputies, the suspect attempted to flee the area, and collided with another vehicle near Jeffrey and Camino De Oeste. Two males ran from the vehicle, prompting a short foot pursuit, when an officer-involved shooting occurred," the sheriff's office said.
Authorities in Pima County are searching for 39-year-old Gabriel Altamirano after they say a deputy was ambushed and shot on Aug. 13.
The deputy is expected to be OK, the Pima County Sheriff's Department says. They said a person was in custody, but that they were looking for a second suspect, 39-year-old Gabriel Altamirano.
On Aug. 18, Altamirano was captured and is accused of attempted murder.
