Peanut butter products distributed in 40 states were recalled due to the presence of foreign materials detected.

Ventura Foods LLC, the company that produces the peanut butter goods, initiated a voluntary recall in April 2025 after officials found pieces of blue plastic in a filter, according to the FDA.

Although the recall was initiated last year, the FDA assigned a Class II classification on Feb. 12. A Class II designation refers to a "situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."
