Man accused of shooting his brother at Phoenix home

A man accused of shooting his brother in Phoenix has been taken into custody, police said on April 1.

According to Phoenix Police, officers responded to a shooting just after 3:00 a.m. near 67th Avenue and McDowell Road and found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.

The teen's brother, 29-year-old Willie Jones, was detained by police. Jones reportedly told police that he accidentally fired the gun while handling it and hit his brother as a result.

Jones now faces charges of aggravated assault and misconduct involving weapons.
