PCSO: Woman tried to pay for charity raffle ticket with fake $100 bill at Country Thunder

PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. (FOX 10) - The Pinal County Sheriff's Officer arrested a woman at Country Thunder over the weekend for trying to pay for a raffle ticket with counterfeit money.

Deputies arrested Sarah Faultner, 20, of Surprise for fraud after she purchased $50 worth of raffle tickets with a counterfeit $100 bill from the 100 Club of Arizona.

After giving Faultner back change, the representative noticed the bill had a weird texture and found the words "play money" written on the cash, according to deputies.

When deputies contacted Faultner, she gave them a false name.

"It is just sad that someone would try to take advantage of a charity, especially a charity that supports law enforcement," said Sheriff Mark Lamb. "Our staff did an excellent job tracking her down and getting her into custody."
