TEMPE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - The Alamo Drafthouse in Tempe, opened earlier in the month and the second such theater in Arizona, had its first big movie premiere Thursday with the showing of "Solo: A Star Wars Story".
Young fans, as well as people dressed up as Star Wars characters and Sparky, are all ready for the big Star Wars night at the new theater.
"I'm looking forward to this one, just because it's kind of different than the other ones," said one attendee. "We'll see. I like the cast. I'm excited to see it."
"We've been looking forward to this for some time," said another attendee.
Operating Partner of the Alamo Drafthouse, Derek Dodd, says he's excited for moviegoers to enjoy some of the neat features they have to offer.
"One theater that sees about 153 people that is outfitted with 35mm projectors. We'll be one of just a few theaters in Phoenix that is able to show film it its truest art," said Dodd.
The theater features seven screens in total, along with over 800 luxury seats. In addition, moviegoers can order food and drinks, all from their seats.
"Our mission is to provide an awesome experience at the theater that makes you not want to watch a movie at your house," said Dodd.
